The Mount and its campsite have long been a muse of mine. The tragic events of Jan 2026 have had a lasting impact. Not only on those directly involved, but also to the wider community who have experienced big and small losses over the past few months. Like most, I struggle to reconcile what happened and find it harder still to express how I feel.
The Mount means so many things to so many people. And many have good memories of times with friends and family experiencing the simple pleasure of a walk in nature around one of its tracks, looking out at the ocean from a well positioned bench, or spending a starlit night at the campsite.
